Inventing Anna: Whatever Happened To The Real Neff Davis?

Netflix has had plenty of documentary-style and dramatic takes on true crime over the years. However, what makes "Inventing Anna" different from many of these films and limited series is how much viewers are inclined to be sympathetic to the charming and charismatic con woman, Anna Delvey, a.k.a. Anna Sorokin.

Though she was released on bail in October 2022, Delvey remains a controversial figure. While some view her as a criminal, others think of her as a natural evolution of capitalism. Either way, one of the primary sources who offered insider information on Delvey was Neff Davis, a concierge at the 11 Howard Hotel in Soho.

The real-life Davis was one of the interviewees for the New York Magazine story on Delvey and also shows up as a character in "Inventing Anna," where she is portrayed by Alexis Floyd. Though she admits that she had her own suspicions about the con artist prior to Delvey's arrest, Davis appears to still have plenty of admiration for her friend. In fact, Davis landed a role as a consultant on the Netflix mini-series as a result of meeting Delvey and is intensely grateful to have had the opportunity.

Neff Davis doesn't work as a concierge anymore

While consulting on "Inventing Anna," Neff Davis was excited to work alongside Nzingha Stewart, a director who Davis, an aspiring filmmaker in her own regard, has a lot of respect for. "I got to go on set, and I got to shadow Nzingha, who's an amazing Black film director," Davis told Okay Player. Stewart has previously worked with Netflix on "Tall Girl," as well as two episodes of "Maid." She has also directed for the series "Little Fires Everywhere," "Daisy Jones and the Six," "Grey's Anatomy," and "Scandal," the latter two of which, like "Inventing Anna," are also series by Shonda Rhimes.

As for Davis, she shared on her Instagram that she has worked with The Tender Foundation recently, an Atlanta-based charity that provides support for single mothers in need of financial assistance and other resources. She also shared that she recently worked with Flaunt Magazine on a fashion shoot in Paris. Davis was also invited onto an episode of "Dr. Phil" to discuss her experience with Anna Delvey.

If you want to keep up with her, she's pretty active on her aforementioned Instagram account, where fans can stay up to date with her personal life and what projects she's currently involved in.
