Jonathan Majors Heads To Trial Amid New Disturbing Case Details

Per an exclusive Variety report, new allegations against Jonathan Majors just surfaced — and the actor is now heading to trial. The 115-page filing Variety obtained contains details of Majors' assault that allegedly occurred in March 2023 but also a "previously unreported" London incident that involved police. The outlet is careful to note that details about the London situation are undisclosed currently. However, it noted that Jabbari is a U.K. citizen and spent time with Majors while he was filming "Loki" Season 2.
Regarding the actor's New York City arrest, the filings reported further details about the case — noting that Jabbari saw a text on Majors' phone from someone asking to "kiss" him. She tried to take the phone and Majors allegedly "grabbed the right side of Ms. Jabbari's body and pried Ms. Jabbari's right middle finger off the phone, causing bruising, swelling, and substantial pain." Reportedly, Majors escalated the situation. As the disturbing account continues, "[Majors] then grabbed Ms. Jabbari's arm and right hand and proceeded to twist Ms. Jabbari's forearm, causing substantial pain to her finger and arm. The defendant then struck Ms. Jabbari's right ear, causing a laceration to the back of her ear and substantial pain." Also, the filing stated that Majors threw Jabbari — causing multiple injuries.
Shortly after this news broke, Variety editor Tatiana Siegel tweeted: "The judge in Majors' case denied the actor's motion to dismiss his charges. He will now face trial."
Jonathan Majors was accused of assault in March
In March 2023, Majors was fresh off successful runs in films like "Creed III," when he was accused of assault by multiple parties. The originally anonymous woman involved in the initial accusations became known publicly as Grace Jabbari. Majors and his lawyer Priya Chaudhry denied any wrongdoing — claiming that Jabbari was the instigator, not Majors. Later, more allegations broke regarding Majors from multiple women, which Variety also reported.
Now, it seems like the London incident adds even more damning and disturbing evidence to the proceedings: According to the filings obtained by the outlet, Jabbari needed medical attention in the U.K. With Majors headed to trial, it seems like his once-promising career will falter. In the aftermath of the initial accusations, Majors was removed from several projects, including his upcoming film "The Man in My Basement." But what other Majors-starring roles are in jeopardy? What about his prominent role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Kang the Conqueror?
Now, Marvel has a major casting problem
Following Majors' arrest, a report by Rolling Stone revealed more insight into the actor — allegedly documenting his decades-long toxic workplace behaviors. Still, the actor has remained in the MCU as Kang the Conqueror and featured in 2023's Season 2 of "Loki." After introducing the character in the show's debut season, Kang returned in "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania." Several future MCU projects like "Avengers: The Kang Dynasty," supposedly revolve around the character — although no new footage of Majors' Kang has been filmed since his arrest.
Executive producer Kevin Wright stated that Majors' role in "Loki" went unchanged in Season 2. Now that the actor's legal battle begins, it remains to be seen whether or not Marvel Studios will keep him or recast the villain it seemingly built its upcoming Phase around. The MCU isn't afraid of recasting: most notably, Don Cheadle took over from Terrence Howard to play Rhodey after Howard played the character in 2008's "Iron Man." Based on the violent nature of these accusations, it might make more sense for the MCU to find a new Kang. However, it's likely that a decision on Majors' MCU future won't be made public until after his trial reaches a verdict.
