- Phil was once part of the transcription team at the award-winning podcast MuggleCast.
- Phil developed an interest in anime and Asian cinema in his teens and has been hooked ever since. He's traveled Asia extensively and always makes sure to check out the local movie theater whenever he visits somewhere new.
Experience
Phil's first writing gig was with the regional daily newspaper The Chronicle, penning reviews for live music events, theater performances, and stand-up comedy shows across the North East of England. His love of travel led to him going freelance, and he's been lucky enough to work remotely from some incredible locations over the years. After a stint as a reporter at Sports Mole (he's a soccer nut and huge Newcastle United fan), he found his forever home in entertainment writing. Phil was a contributor at What Culture and Screen Rant before he joined the Looper team in 2016. He's now a full-time editor at Looper.
Education
Phil earned a bachelor's degree in Politics and Media Studies from Northumbria University and then fine-tuned his writing skills with the U.K.'s National Council for the Training of Journalists.
Looper's content is a collaboration between a core group of experienced entertainment editors and a vast team of writers, graphic designers, interviewers, and experts in all things entertainment and pop culture.
